I was playing my E/Me and a big warrior tried to hack me down so I ran.
and ran
and ran
and ran
and ran
And the dumbass warrior kept following after the whole time calling me a n00b. I guess because I ran? Well while he was chasing this n00b my party was whacking the rest of his party and then I ran by the rest of my team and they hacked him down while he chased me.
So the n00b was able to slap some denial on the enemy monk at the start of the fight and then remove the enemy tank completely out of the fight. I'd say it was a job well done.
Seriously though most of the opponents either say nothing or say gg. Sometimes they say "wow" or if they win they taunt our dead bodies which is ok as I do that too

The label is apt, and accurate. PvP is competition, and wishing for the world to hold hands, sing "Shining Happy People," and say gg after every match just isn't going to happen. Thats the reality. You can ignore it, or join in the fun. There is a certain irony to declaring how aloof and mature you are from PvP smacktalk, and yet take time to grumble about it on a message board, no?
Personally, I just like /sitting on a defeated opponents corpse after the match these days. That usually gets the point across. I also find myself laughing at some of the smacktalk, especially when a W/Mo does some John Travolta moves on my face-down body. Ah, its a bitter-sweet moment.

When an elme outruns a warrior, that warrior is a newb.

I haven't encountered too much hostility/bad manners from losing parties in the Arena. Over the weekend I had some good winning streaks (in fact, one of the groups I was in I gained 1/2 of 10 and 40% of 11 before I had to leave for church [by that time, 3 of our members were 11]), and I can only remember 1 or 2 whines, and no hostile remarks. On good matches I'd give out a GG and when I saw people again I'd greet them (I always call target on monks prior to the gates opening) by name.
For me, it's been a rarity to find poor sports amongst my opponents (though immature gloating is more common, in my experience).

I was laughing so hard when this one Korean team wrote, "You American Mother Dog Pussy." Good Stuff

Haha... hello fellow guild member. I also get quite angry and competitive in pvp, it's player vs player. I hate getting on a pick-up team and they don't press t after I tell them to and then call the target. There's a reason why that w/mo and e/n is not dieing... perhaps it's the monk!
I got called a snob . That's alright by me, better to be good and be a snob then be shitty and a loser.

You know... it really is okay.
I don't mind if they talk like that. I mean, I understand some people find the language offensive or something, but it's an online game so that's normal. But really how much do I care what a person says about me when I'm online?
Like playing CounterStrike:
1337player - "OMFG! u n00b. i pwn u"
Me - *BAM* Shotgun to the face.
1337player - "fuggin hax! u cheater!"
Same thing in GuildWars. And it will always be like that. So let them talk... because I'm guy with the shotgun.
And you know what? Sometimes people don't care that much about winning either. I'm actually not much good at all at CounterStike but I love playing, even if my kill/death ratio only works out to 1:4 sometimes.
Online insults are popular because people know that, unlike when you were in high school, you can talk shit online and no one can chase you down and beat to snot out of you. In real life if someone talks like that, they'll get a nice ruining by someone who can actually back it up. The bottom line is that everyone ought to learn to ignore it. They get their jollies by making you mad. If they aren't killing you and bragging about it, they'll be dying and saying that you cheated. They will always be best in their own mind.
Just make sure you're satisfied. If you don't mind losing as long as you get to play, then cool. If you are only happy when you win, then make damn sure that you're the guy with the shotgun.

The one thing I find more annoying by far than any taunting or "u haxs" talk is fools whining in all caps about how overpowered a healing W/Mo is in every dang district of the various random arenas. At first, I just laughed, but now it's getting really annoying. There should be an NPC added to explain to noobs that healing W/Mos are very easy to counter and should maybe even explain a bit of profession-countering advice since they don't want to learn in RP. I also dislike some of the racist talk in the tombs, but simple taunting is fine.

It's fun facing a whole team of W/Mo's because people think they're overpowered and try to win with just the build. You get your Ele's on the team to just blast away at them while your monks are healing and your Warriors are keeping them still.
I went through a tomb run at breakfast yesterday and was with a damn good team, we slaughtered everyone in our way. The only thing that got to me is that the leader was a sore winner. Made snide remarks to the loosers and all until I told them to settle down, it's already obvious we're the better team, you don't need to rub it in.

The mesmer stays behind, and keeps doing that, and the Wa/Mo's die. Pretty quickly, as well.

/dance is much better though. We did that when DAoC went live and we ambushed a group at their gates who just finished a battle, then got pwned by us. Much fun.

Yeah, I agree about the sore loser thing. I guess it's not too bad though, since those simple-minded people usually forget who you are, so as long as you ignore them, you're fine. At least GW is better than some other MMOGs were the winners say things like "pwnt ez!!!11!1one!!1". I've been PvPing for a while, and I've only met 2 groups of winners who were like that, whereas I've met like 30+ sore losers.
